i have this thing on my leg that i've had for about a year.  at first i thought it was a bruise that wouldnt go away but my dr. said that if it was a bruise, it would have gone away by now.  so now i'm really worried.  i have an appt. with a dermatologist on wednesday and i'm scared to go cuz i dont want to find out something is seriously wrong with me.  if there is, what will happen to my kids? they really have no one else.  i'll let you know what happens.

My mood: very sick
My health: really bad

Hang in there, its probably just something that can be treated and cured. Besides, your inner strength will help you make it through this for your kids.

Your skin can do weird things. My dad builds furniture and I used to help him. I have this weird discolored patch on my arm that I thought was stain or something, but it's still there, 7 years later. There's nothing wrong with me, just looks kind of like a birth mark. So don't panic yet.

FYI the dr. told me the spot i have is called "morphea". he said it's an autoimmune disorder where my body is actually rejecting that part of my skin and connective tissue as if it were not my own. he gave me some strong steroid cream to use for 5 weeks and if it doesn't help, i have to get a biopsy. he said if i'm not careful, it could spread to my entire body, but this only happens in about 10% of cases. let's hope i'm in the other 90%. ps thanks for the support guys :)
